Hermione's Loves

Chapter 18

Pass-out!

Really, it seems like forever since I updated, but it hasn't been. It's only been, like a few days... Hmmm....

Oh well. Enjoy!! And, I'm sorry if my story's been
grossing you out. I think I lost lots of readers, but I
know I'm gaining some, too. I promise you, the gross-ness
is O-V-E-R!!

Oh, yeah, and I changed it. The Heads went on a vacation that ends over summer holiday, so they won't be back to
Hogwarts ever. Draco and Hermione are permanently Heads,
even next year.

[Okay, it's a night in February, two months after
the 'Incident'. Ehem...]

"Draco! Eeeek!" Hermione broke down in giggles. Draco was
tickling her in the common room, and she was defensless.

"Stop! Please!" she shrieked through her giggles. "I give
up! Stop!" Draco pulled his fingers away from her sides
and stood up, for they were on the floor.

Hermione breathed deeply, and then said, "Thank you! Ouch,
my face hurts from laughing so much..." Suddenly, she
dropped back down to the floor.

"Hermione! What the matter? Are you okay? Hermione?
Hermione! Wake up!!" Draco shouted, putting her head in
his lap. She's fainted, he thought. He lifted her up in
order to carry her and brought her to the Hospital Wing.

"Mr. Malfoy? What's happened to Miss Granger?" Madame
Pomfrey asked curiously.

"I-I really don't know. She just...passed out. I thought
I should bring her to you." he answered timidly.

"Well, you were right. Put her on this bed, here." she
said, and pointed to an open mattress. He laid her down
and watched the nurse go over her with a wand, looking at
the side of it every now and then. As she passed
Hermione's lower stomach, the wand shot out red sparks and
Draco jumped about a mile into the air.

"Don't be alarmed, Draco. This is the problem area. I'll
have to do some tests, and they'll take quite a while. You
should go back to your dormitory and get some sleep. You may visit Hermione tomorrow. Good night."

"But-"

"No buts. Good night, Mr. Malfoy." she shooed him out the door and he made his way back to the common room, worrying about Hermione as he pulled his nightshirt on, and fretting all night, getting almost no sleep.

The next morning, Draco woke quickly. He showered, dressed, and bruched his teeth as fast as he possibly could, hoping to visit Hermione before classes. He nearly ran to the Hospital Wing, and felt his heart leap and skip a beat when he entered and found Hermione awake, lying on her bed and reading 'Witch Weekly.'

"Hermione! You're awake!! Are you okay? What's wrong?" The last question he asked because she looked at him with the saddest look he had ever seen.

Hermione opened her mouth as if to speak, but then shut it and shook her head, tears forming in her eyes. It clicked right then in Draco's mind: Her lower abdomen was the problem area, and she had passed out, and she was now freely crying over something she could not speak of. There was only one explination.

"You're not...?" he asked nervously. She nodded.

"No way. You said yourself you're not. You said you can't be, you're only sixteen, there's no way..." Hermione just nodded as tears fell down her face. Draco sat beside her and hugged her, afraid. Afraid for Hermione. Afraid for himself. Afraid for the new baby in her stomach, and the life it would lead.
