We had originally relied on many sources that had said Emma Watson born in Oxford, England. However, there has been a substantial amount of research going on at Wikipedia by many of its members and they have concluded that theres really no strong evidence that Emma was born in the UK.

As we strive to provide the most accurate information possible, we have changed our biography of Emma Watson to reflect this accordingly. And again, we appologize for this error and are continuing to look into this matter. It is still under debate because there is no solid piece of evidence saying she was born in England or France. Various magazines have been quoted saying England and others saying France.

From a Wikipedia user:
I have just done the same research using the subscription genealogy site ancestry.co.uk which uses UK Government birth indexes and confirmed all the info. I appreciate this research can't be used or go into the article but it must cast enough doubt to remove the false claim that she was born in Oxfordshire

What they did was try and find the birth record for Emma Watson in UK. Although this isn't fool proof, it gives us enough evidence to say that she was not born in the UK.

Emma Watson is celebrating after getting top grades in her GCSEs. She recieved eight A*s and two As. She has to both film and study at the sametime, which makes her education a little more difficult.

A lot of people are now saying that this shows Emma is more than just a "pretty face," but also very smart, like her character, Hermione.

Anyhow, Emma did a great job and we're all very proud of her!

For those who aren't fimilar with what the GCSEs:

The General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) is the name of a set of British qualifications, taken by secondary school students, at age of 14-16 in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Gibraltar.

At the end of the two-year GCSE course, each student receives a grade for each subject. These grades, from best to worst, are A*, A, B, C, D, E, F and G. Those who fail a course are given a U (unclassified) and that subject is not included on their certificates. Receiving five or more C grades is often a requirement for taking A-levels in the school sixth form, at a sixth form college or at a further education college after leaving secondary school. Most universities typically require a C or better in English and Mathematics, regardless of a student's performance in their A-level or Foundation Degree course after leaving school. Many students who fail to get a C in English and Mathematics (and, increasingly, ICT) will retake their GCSEs in those subjects at a later date.
